Security Guard Commissionaires in null

  • Must have reliability Status/Security Clearance
  • Must have a valid Newfoundland Labrador Drivers license
  • Must have Current First Aid –AED Certificate
  • Previous experience/courses in related field of law enforcement/corrections or experience working in similar type of environment would be an asset
  • Urinalysis testing – ability to learn and conduct urinalysis testing
  • Ability to recognize and respond effectively to potentially volatile or crisis/emergency situation
  • Ability to recognize the signs and effects of intoxicating substances to recognize when offender are under the influence of substances
  • Ability to deal with offenders in a professional manner, regardless of their behaviour, attitude and/or criminal record, which requires effort to maintain a healthy, professional attitude and remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to write reports that effectively transmit information in a clear and concise manner in daily log and “Officer Observation Reports”
  • Basic Computer Skills: sending/receiving emails printing in house forms
  • The Community Correctional Centre (CCC) is a residential facility providing accommodations to 24 male federal offenders, under parole, who require a period of supervision prior to their release into the community.

    Commissionaires have close interaction with offenders and exposure/encounters with those suffering from mental illness and under influence of a substance, could bring risk of direct/indirect threats, intimidation and exposure to bodily fluids.

    In additions to providing routine security duties, monitoring CCTV etc. to the centre Commissionaires are responsible for but not limited to:

  • Monitors and documents offenders whereabouts’ when in the community conduct and conduct within the CCC ensuring the residents they abide by the rules & regulations of the CCC and their parole conditions
  • Reports all breaches of parole conditions/house rules inappropriate behaviour that may pose a threat
  • Conducting urinalysis testing
  • Control of & providing access to medication
  • Rotating 12 Hour shifts

    Pay: $18.32 per hour
